“I like being the person behind the person.”
I didn’t start Dykes’ Webshop because I always dreamed of owning a web company. I started it because I saw how the right knowledge and support could change someone’s business.
As a woman building a career in business, design, and technology, I learned early that sometimes you have to create your own opportunity. My background spans psychology, business, marketing, design, and technology, but what I care about most is helping everyday small business owners present themselves professionally and see the possibilities for their business.
I also understand what it means to be underestimated, overlooked, or expected to fit into a narrow role. That experience shaped the way I built Dykes’ Webshop. I wanted to create a business that could help other entrepreneurs, including women and minority-owned businesses, gain access to professional-level marketing without feeling that quality was out of reach.
I like being the person behind the person—meeting business owners where they are, making the first step affordable and achievable, and helping them build from there. Sometimes that starts with a business card. Sometimes it’s a logo, a website, or a complete brand.
And there’s something I never want Dykes’ Webshop to lose: the personal touch.
I work locally. I can sit across the table from you, listen to what you’re trying to accomplish, answer when you call, and help you understand your options. You’re not dealing with a faceless company. You’re working with someone who wants to understand your business and help you grow it.
For me, Women’s Small Business Month is also a reminder of how far women entrepreneurs have come—and how important it is that we continue creating opportunities, supporting one another, and building businesses that reflect our talent, knowledge, and vision.
My goal has always been to make professional-level marketing accessible to small businesses, while helping business owners see what their company can become.
That was the passion behind Dykes’ Webshop when I started, and nearly twenty years later, it still is.
